Loose Tooth – ‘Pickwick Average’
I’m a big fan of the scrappy vibe that Philadelphia’s Loose Tooth give off, it reminds me of a rougher, punkier Pavement or better yet The Replacements. ‘Pickwick Average’ is a propulsive cacophony of trebly guitars and American yelps that reek of youthful rebellion. Eventually it collapses into a messy coda that trails off in an unexpectedly peaceful direction.
